Siberian Generating Company’s 2020 power output soars by 40.5%
MOSCOW, Jan 25 (PRIME) -- The power production of Russia’s Siberian Generating Company soared by 40.5% on the year to 63.7 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh) in 2020 mainly due to acquisition of new assets, the company said in a statement on Monday.
Without production of the Reftinskaya GRES, the Krasnoyarskaya GRES-2, and the Primorskaya GRES power plants, which joined the company in 2020, power production contracted by 11.6% on the year to 40.1 billion kWh in 2020 due to a high water content of the rivers in Siberia and consequent redistribution of power loading in favor of hydropower plants.
The output of thermal power by plants of Siberian Generating Company grew by 0.6% to 43.7 million gigacalories including the input of new plants. Without the contribution of new plants, it shrank by 2% due to warm weather during the heating season, the company said.
